There is no shortage of abandon boarded up buildings and vacant lots in North Minneapolis.  With that said, Springboard purchased 2426 Plymouth Ave North from the bank for $3,000.  Yes, that is correct, $3,000. The building was built by the Jewish Community in 1921 on the once thriving economic street Plymouth Ave North.  The building has seen better days.   It is time to stop the demolition of North Minneapolis community assets, building the community assets left behind by the Jewish community is imperative to the revitalization of North Minneapolis.

Trim 2.jpgNOTICE OF PUBLIC MEETING -Springboard Economic Development Corporation will hold a public meeting on Thursday, July 16th at 6:30 p.m. at NorthPoint Health and Wellness Center (1313 Penn Ave North) to discuss the proposed natural healthy organic food enterprise. Jobs Jobs Jobs.

Mississippi Market, located on the corner of Selby and Dale in St. Paul is the model of success.  The store, from my conversation provides healthy nutritious foods for the Rondo Community.  More importantly, it provides approximately 60-70 jobs within the community.  The model works by providing a reason for local residents to spend their money locally.  With no establishments located within reasonable walking distance of the corner of Sheridan and Plymouth Ave, the timing is right. The Northside community has proven to support food enterprises.  There will be no tobacco products sold.
